Björn Sahlin, known artistically as bj888rn, is an interdisciplinary artist raised in Karlstad, a mid-sized Swedish city, held between the vast forest and Vänern, Sweden’s largest lake. With a background deeply rooted in DIY subcultures—graffiti, skateboarding, experimental music, and the raw, unpolished ethos of underground filmmaking—he crafts immersive audiovisual experiences that resonate on a visceral, dreamlike level.

Björn’s practice weaves together elements of photography, animation, 3D design, symbolism, realtime visual and video manipulation, and experimental soundscapes, creating multimedia works that evoke the textures of memory, the heart-mind (xin), and the ephemeral nature of the human condition.

From his media lab, a hybrid space outfitted with tools ranging from analog equipment to cutting-edge digital technology, Björn continues to explore the intersection of light, sound, and story. His work invites audiences into physical spaces where music and visuals converge, transforming into an immersive whole greater than the sum of its parts.
